Architecture studio,
Arkibide, Markina-Xemein

Located in the Arkupe of the historic town of Markina, our first studio was inaugurated in 2008. The renovation of the premises consisted of removing all the layers of finishes that had been applied in previous years, due to different business installed there.
The wooden mezzanine was dismantled and the humidity by capillarity that affected the entire interior environment, was eliminated by chemical infiltration on the wall, and drainage layer under the slab.
The result, a double height space, with the character and materials of the envelope of a building of its time.
Arkibide Eraikuntzak SL 2020, Markina-Xemein
Located on the ground floor of 38 Artibai street in Markina-Xemein, the new era of Arkibide opens in 2021, which has evolved into an Architecture + construction company.
The renovation of the premises consisted of identifying the previous mechanical workshop style (Citroën) and reinterpret it into the bright and cheerful space design where to develop the company's new offices and warehouse.
Almost the entire wooden mezzanine was dismantled and the steel plates of the original garage door were replaced with alveolar polycarbonate plates, thus lightening the whole and an immense entrance of natural light. The old workshop tables were repainted and turned into material display stands.
Finally, the circle is a tribute to Chinese architecture. The wall that separated both spaces was perforated with that perfect geometric shape.
Arkibide Eraikuntzak SL 2022, Markina-Xemein

Law Firm,
Markina-Xemein

This firm was looking for an adequate space to expand their business, 10 years after their first opening.
It was a 75m2 space, to be distributed in two offices, the reception, one meeting room and the washroom.
The objective was to maximize the floor and ceiling views, breaking as much as possible the box, to have a sense of a bigger space.
All the partitions are made by gypsum board and laminated glass.
The colors were chosen according to the existing building.

Markina-Xemein

This first podiatric clinic was located on the ground floor of a building in the historic center. The fundamental premise was the maximum use of the existing and the low budget to enable it as a consultation, fulfilling all the legal requirements of application.
The answer was the design of a large screen-printed glass dihedral, anchored to the floor and ceiling, which divided the office from the waiting room.
At all times, the existing elements of chairs and wooden structure were respected.
